03 Sep Our First Post
I want to welcome everyone to our first blog. Four months ago my wife and I decided that we would start a photography business after realizing our true passion for photography and seeing our wedding photographers in action. There is no greater joy than capturing a split second in time that may never occur again… a glimpse, a smile, a tear, or laughter. It may sound cheesy and it may sound like everyone else but there is no other way to explain it. We are currently a team of four which includes: me, Balbino, Melissa (my wife), Franklin (my brother in-law), and Maria (my sister). Now that we have introductions out of the way, lets proceed to the topic of the day.
I had recently taken a course led by a famous wedding photographer named Jasmine Star on Creative Live. She had told the class that every time you take a picture keep in mind the three words that describe your brand. I suddenly realized that I had no idea what those three words were. Looking at everything that has inspired my vision, I have realized that my three words were BOLD, FUN, and CAPTIVATING.
BOLD. To me bold means that something stands out, it’s different. Whether this is achieved through color, composition, or light, a photo should stand out and evoke emotion.
FUN. I love to have fun while I am shooting. There is nothing more beautiful than genuine laughter! A photographer should be someone you could trust and laugh with. I believe that the more at ease you are with your photographer, the more he or she will be able to bring out the best in your photos of you. In pictures it’s all about your non-verbal actions, and your eyes. These two factors can easily be influenced by a photographer you don’t like.
CAPTIVATING. A great photo is something that you can look at for the rest of your life and evoke the same feelings that you felt that day. Photographs are, after all, precious memories captured in the frame.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I also want to thank all of the customers so far that have made Vividfotos possible! Please stay tuned for our next blog!
