10 Aug Kyle + Scott | 07.20.19 | Byodo-In Temple | Prince Waikiki
Kyle + Scott had an amazing wedding day that began at the Prince Waikiki. They then made their way to the Byodo-In temple where they’d share an intimate wedding ceremony with just their family. The two of them love Japan and actually got engaged at Tokyo Disney so the temple was the perfect way to incorporate a little hint of Japan in to their special day. Before their ceremony they rang the Bon-Sho together, this is a sacred bell crafted in Osaka, Japan. It is said that ringing this bell brings happiness, blessings, and long life. They had a close friend officiate their sweet ceremony in front of the statue of Buddha, surrounded by those closest to them. After exchanging heartfelt vows they kissed for the first time as husband and husband! We explored the gorgeous temple grounds then moved on to Tantalus for some diversity in their photos. They enjoyed overlooking Diamond Head and Honolulu below. We then returned to the Prince Waikiki where we shot around the grounds and captured their reception details. They had a starry night theme so their decor featured deep blue flowers with crystal accents and their head table had stars projected on it. They made their grand entrance with cheers from their loved ones and then danced for the first time as a married couple. Scott shed some tears as they rocked back and forth on the cloud. They enjoyed the rest of their party with sweet speeches, lots of games, and ended the night with a drag queen performance from one of their friends. She totally killed it and watching Kyle and Scott laugh and cheer as she worked the crowd of their friends and family was amazing to see!
